Hello, KissTunes!

While your friends and family never get tired of receiving chain emails with lots of animated emoticons from you, maybe a little funny tune would make them love you even more!

KissTunes introduces a new and fun way to make your loved-ones smile (or smirk). With KissTunes you can use your computer's keyboard (QWERTY, the one you type with) to play a simple tune and record it in real time. You can save your recording online and let your friends post their comments. Your tune will have its own URL which you can bookmark and share with others.

Save As .Kiss Feature
KissTunes also allows you to download your recording as a .kiss file, which you can re-open and play at KissTunes.com. Your conversation with your friends also gets saved with the .kiss file, and the file gets updated with new comments every time you load it up.

For Fun and Other Things
What you can't say with words you can express with KissTunes. A line from your friend's favorite song might be enough to say "sorry" or "thank you." Or perhaps a "Happy Birthday" tune for your mom's 60th birthday. How about a super cheesy song for someone you love (or hate).

Kids can learn how to play very simple tunes by listening to other recordings. The on-screen "kissboard" shows which keys are being pressed as the tune plays. Songwriters and arrangers can use KissTunes for exchanging melodies and ideas for their next song project.

System Requirements
KissTunes requires Firefox 3+ or IE7+, Flash Player 6+, and at least 756Mb RAM for it to run smoothly. Slower systems might experience a slower playback and choppy recording. A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 is recommended.

some limitations
Computer keyboards are designed for typing and not for playing music, so we really can't expect them to be as responsive as a real midi keyboard.

KissTunes only records notes (what you play) and timing (when you play them). It cannot record velocity, portamento, sustain, and other signals that you can record with standard midi.
