We're going to release a new version of kisstunes later this month (July 20+) with some new useful features. Aside from changes in the layout and design, here's a quick rundown.
New instruments - Bass guitar, bells, drums and percussion, and some more.
Piano-Roll - An interface similar to professional midi software. Notes are reflected on the piano roll as you record.
Edit notes - You can now drag and drop notes to adjust timing and their pitch. You can also delete notes that you accidentally pressed.
Timeline - You can now start playing the tune from any part of the timeline.
Music Library - Listen to what others are playing. You can edit their work and save it as a new tune.
Save-as-draft - You can save them for your ears only!
Save changes - You can edit your previous works and save the changes.
Remember, these features are not yet available in the current version. We plan to release the new beta on July 20, 2009 (tentative).
When we release this, your old tunes will still work, but they will load in the old version. New tunes made from the upcoming version will be compatible with all future versions.
Any questions, just send them to beta@kisstunes.com
[EDITED]
The new kisstunes beta has finally arrived! Click here!
I've just installed an acoustic guitar tone, which is now available in the instrument selection button (lower left). Once you save your tune, it will be saved with the instrument that you selected (eg. if you recorded using the acoustic guitar, it will be saved and loaded with the acoustic guitar tone).
You can also try out different instruments with your recorded tune even before saving it. Once you have recorded a tune, simply select a new instrument and it will be applied right away. Same thing with saved/loaded tunes.
I and my partner KT Cat are very happy to announce the first beta release of KissTunes.com!
For now we only have one instrument (Electric Piano), but wait a few weeks and we're gonna have a lot more. We've got a lot of expansion plans for this app, so this is more like a proof of concept for online recording.
Sure, there are a lot of virtual keyboards online that let you play a tune, and some of them even allow you to record the notes. We wanted to improve that concept and allow users to be able to record in real time not just the notes that they press but also the timing.
Kiss Tunes doesn't have the same resolution as MIDI, but it's good enough for web use. This means you can still play those 8th and 16th notes.
Just check this page for official new and other updates. Raar!
